The Sippican Woman’s Club awards $15,600 in scholarships to students
MARION — The Sippican Woman’s Club announced they awarded $11,100 in scholarships to graduating high school seniors who reside in Marion.
In addition, the group has awarded $4,500 in renewal or continuing education scholarships to residents of Marion enrolled in a post-secondary college or university.
The funds used to award these scholarships came from the money raised during the club’s Holiday House Tour that was held in early December 2025.
The following seven high school seniors were the recipients of the graduating senior scholarships.
The students from Old Rochester Regional High School who received scholarships are Charlotte Cook attending Stonehill College, Caroline Houdelette attending Springfield College, Delilah Post attending Fairfield University and Katherine Young attending Springfield College.
Mary Grace Russo from Bishop Stang High School received a scholarship for Clemson University.
From Tabor Academy Nicholas Parks received a scholarship to attend Massachusetts Maritime Academy.
From Upper Cape Regional Technical High School Joshua Van Inwegen received a scholarship to attend Maine Maritime Academy.
Charlotte Cook from Old Rochester Regional was the recipient of the Lu Chevrier Award. This award goes to a graduating senior who wants to teach or has taught in some manner such as tutoring or helping another student.
This award honors Lu Chevrier who was the President of the club for 3 years from 1996-1999.
The following nine Marion residents were the recipients of the renewal or continuing education scholarships. Ella Bartholomew attending Boston University, Kate Feeney attending Elon University, Sydney Feeney attending University of Connecticut, Failenn Fitzpatrick attending College of the Holy Cross, Elizabeth Houdelette attending Springfield College, Laura Pardo attending College of the Holy Cross, Catherine Parks attending Providence College, Emily Wyman attending Boston College, Sarah Wyman attending Boston College.
The Alice Ryder Book Award has been presented to the highest-ranking eighth grade English student from Marion at Old Rochester Regional Junior High School.
This year’s recipient is Shanley Pearl Lempert.
