Soup-er appreciation

MARION — Over the past seven months, Meg Albert and Patty Nicholson have prepared close to 2500 quarts of soup to Damien's Food Pantry thanks to the time and donations of community members. 

The duo raised over $10,000 for their culinary project, which funded their 80-quart-weekly output of minestrone, chicken noodle, kale and many other types of soup.

They extend their thanks to those who donated to help purchase ingredients, along with friends who helped cook, store and move the soup.

Albert and Nicholson are taking the summer off, but will begin their soup-making efforts again in September. To donate or volunteer, contact Albert at 11 Cottage St., P.O. Box 697.
