25 years later, Rochester renews pledge to ‘never forget’

ROCHESTER — The Rochester Events Committee encourages residents to memorialize 9/11 with remembrance and service. 

The group is collecting memories and stories of Sept. 11, 2002 to create a remembrance binder. 

Submissions can be dropped off at the Rochester Senior Center, at Plumb Library or emailed to rochestereventscommittee@gmail.com. The completed binder will be kept on view at the Plumb

Library.

The committee also encourages people to do something nice for someone else. Ideas include donating canned goods or vegetables to a local pantry, calling or visiting someone or honoring first responders by donating to the town’s first responders. 

Tax-deductible checks can be made to Rochester Fire Fighters Association at Hartley Road or to Rochester Police Brotherhood at 29 Dexter Lane. Checks should read “9/11” on the memo line.
