Broadway music at next Marion Concert Band event

MARION — The Marion Concert Band will continue its Friday evening concert series with a program of Broadway music on Friday, July 31.
The concert will begin at 7 p.m. at the Robert Broomhead Bandstand, Island Wharf, off Front Street. The program will include a vocalist and selections from several Broadway shows.
The program includes: "The Showman" by H. Akers; "Lohengrin (Introduction to Act III)" by R. Wagner; "Broadway Show-Stoppers Overture," arranged by W. Barker; selections from "Les Misérables" by C-M. Schönberg; "Blue Moon" by L. Hart; "Opening Night on Broadway," arranged by M. Brown; "Make Our Garden Grow" from "Candide" by L. Bernstein; "Sondheim!" arranged by S. Bulla; "Over the Rainbow" by H. Arlen; selections from "My Fair Lady" by F. Loewe; and "Them Basses" by G.H. Huffine.
Vocalist Jocelyn Paulo will perform during the concert. Paulo, a jazz vocalist from Berkley, is entering her senior year studying music at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth. She is a graduate of Bishop Stang High School and is making her second appearance with the Marion Concert Band.
