Dig in to Marion’s Native American history
Event Date
MARION — Join the Marion Natural History Museum for a presentation on the museum’s Nariva American archaeological collections.
Heather Olson, the laboratory and collections manager at The Public Archaeology Laboratory, will discuss these objects during her presentation on Friday, Nov. 13 from 6 to 7 p.m.
For 154 years the museum has preserved objects that reflect the natural and cultural heritage of the region, including bird nests, butterflies, minerals, shells, and Native American artifacts from Marion and beyond.
This program will highlight recent research into the museum’s Native American collections, examining what these artifacts reveal about the area’s past and why they remain important to understanding local history today.
To register, visit the museum’s website at www.marionmuseum.org.
