To the editor: To the attention of 'concerned individuals'
The hypocrisy runs deep in the Mattapoisett area, Southeastern, Massachusetts area...let's face it: Massachusetts.
We had seen how large piles were driven in the wetlands of the Harbor and Waterfront, simply in the name of a bike / walking path.
The Science Teacher from Old Rochester used to bring her kids down to Eel Pond for Science Experiences and genuine Teaching lessons.
Who in their right mind would think that all this heavy excavation and pile driving would not damage the eco-system?
The sensitive environmental people could care less about this outcome. The teacher was told, sorry, cannot go there anymore, while the area was environmentally mauled.
How many "environmental lovers"care about the trash trucks that have open tops....Why don't people follow them around and see how much trash flies out during their pickup runs all over our streets? I have called the trash companies many times to complain. Where is the outrage?
Where is the outrage for Mammal life while sticking Windfarms all over the Cape Cod offshore area?
Where is the investigation and data of net-benefit? It takes twice the amount of energy to produce each of these with no benefit. Mammal sensory is completely thrown off and has affected wildlife on a massive scale.
Have "environmental lovers" been paid off? Massive synthetic blades shattering apart and polluting our oceans and beaches forever since the shards of fiberglass as stuck in our beach sands, and mammal life has to coexist with this carnage. Massive amount of waste and fraud in who gets awarded these contracts at hardworking taxpayers’ expense.
Where is the outrage for the land being bought up by “environmental lovers" yet let the underbrush collect and land management is thrown out the window. Massive fire fueling brush is in our neighborhoods and there is no outrage.
We are worrying about vegetation being harmed.... TOO late: As an extorted taxpayer, I am very concerned about the environment, and for that reason, would never be bought, paid off, stick my head in the sand, and so on. We cannot speak out of both sides of our mouth and claim we have a viable gripe.
It actually is intellectually possible to speak about affordable housing solutions and environmental sensitivities in one conversation.
Perhaps, the readers would be more challenged and focused on real issues if they dig into truths.
