New Marion Art Center show to open soon

MARION — A new Marion Art Center exhibit celebrating color, form and place will open later this month. 

The show will be on view from Sept. 26 through Oct. 30 with an opening reception from 3-5 p.m. On Sept. 26. 

The exhibit will show the art of Pamela Dorris DeJong and Sky Hoyt. 

DeJong is a mixed-media artist who draws on her background in pediatric nursing and art education. She is drawn to translucent, layered surfaces and atmospheric conditions that create vibrant color. 

Hoyt is a Connecticut-based artist with a degree in visual art from Bennington College. She has also studied art in Paris and New York. She was trained as an oil painter but has developed a layered, mixed-media approach.
