ROCHESTER — Town residents rocked and rolled at the last summer concert by Rochester’s Council on Aging with Robert Black and the Elvis Band.
“We were joined by about 400 of our closest friends. The music was great, but the time spent with friends socializing was even greater,” said Eric Poulin, the council’s director. “We look forward to next year’s summer concert series as these fun events have become something that people look forward to every year.”
This is the third year of the council’s outdoor concerts. Poulin said social events such as these are especially important for health as we grow older.
“Isolation can be harmful both physically and mentally to seniors and to all of us,” Poulin said. “Events like these also give people a chance to get out and listen to music and enjoy themselves at a time in their lives when they may not be driving as far as they used to for socializing and entertainment.”
