MARION — Katrina Desroches was unanimously appointed as the new Town Clerk of Marion at a Feb. 18 Select Board meeting.
Desroches was one of four interviewed for the position. She was unanimously selected by the hiring committee as the most ideal candidate according to Geoffrey Gorman.
Select Board member Norman Hills was impressed with Desroches educational background and wanted to make sure she was clear what the job entailed. He added that there will be homework.
“I’m very familiar with homework,” Desroches joked.
The Select Board will provide Desroches with Town Clerk a minimum of three years of training.
Chair Randy Parker had no questions for Desroches and was confident in her appointment.
“I read the resume and I'm confident that you've got the abilities to do the job,” Parker said.
Desroches first day will be on March 4.
