Rochester driver hits snowbank, causing vehicle rollover
ROCHESTER — A car flipped over after hitting a snow bank Sunday morning at the intersection of High Street and Looks Mill Lane.
The driver sustained minor injuries, and was taken to St. Luke’s Hospital in New Bedford.
The Rochester Police and Fire Departments responded to the Sunday, Feb. 15 call and found the driver still inside the vehicle when they arrived on-scene.
Police Chief Michael Assad said the accident likely occurred because the driver was not paying attention to the road.
The car hit the edge of a snow bank, causing it to flip and roll over.
Assad warned other drivers to be wary in the winter time with snow banks. He said snowbanks can easily pull cars deeper into the snow if struck.
“You really have to pay attention, especially in the wintertime where snow banks are close to the road,” Assad said.
