Phyllis A. Pina, 85
MARION – Phyllis A. Pina, 85, of Marion, died Wednesday, December 3, 2025 at Tobey Hospital after a long illness.
Born in Wareham, she was the daughter of the late Manuel Gonsalves and Anita (Andrews) Lopes. She graduated from Wareham High School and attended nursing school where she received her nursing certificate. Phyllis worked as a licensed practical nurse at Tobey Hospital for 40 years.
She was a member of the Red Hat Society where she enjoyed the company of her friends, and the Friday Night Girls Club. Phyllis also was active in the Wareham and Marion Councils on Aging. An avid Patriots fan, you could always find Phyllis in her jersey on game day watching her team.
Survivors include her daughters, Pamela Pina of Harwich and Allison Pina of E. Providence, RI; her siblings, Donald Lopes and his wife Linda of Onset, Donna Bozzo of W. Hills, CA, Wayne Lopes and his wife Yvonne of Taunton, Joann Christmas of Onset, Juanita Rezendes of Marion, and Doreen Gonsalves-Givens and Candina Harding both of Albuquerque, NM. Also surviving are 4 grandchildren, Sydney Rocha, Kolbe Rocha, Shahnaz Teixeira and Abijah Anderson, her close cousin, Shelley Andrews, and many nieces and nephews. Phyllis was predeceased by her siblings, the late Joseph Lopes, Jr., Marlene Connolly, Vera Henry, Christy McNamara, Paula McNiff, MaryLou Martin, Diane Lopes, Jeanette Tobey, and Ronald Gonsalves.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit on Saturday, December 20, 2025 at Chapman Funerals & Cremations – Wareham, 2599 Cranberry Hwy. (Rt. 28), Wareham from 10 to 11 AM. A memorial service will follow at 11 AM. After the service you are invited to continue celebrating Phyllis’ life the Dudley Brown V.F.W. Post, 4 Gibbs Ball Park Rd., Wareham.
