Apr 7, 2025
ROCHESTER — The Regional Old Colony Communications Center received a 911 call for a structure fire at a residence on Snipatuit Road in Rochester at 1:48 p.m. Saturday, April 5.
Multiple Rochester Fire Department units responded to the afternoon call within minutes and were directed to a barn on the property. The Rochester Police Department assisted with traffic at the scene.
The emergency was a result of a permitted outside burn which had extended to the corner of the barn. The fire was quickly knocked down with minimal damage to the rear exterior of the barn and the interior loft.
Personnel were on the scene for an hour after the main fire had been extinguished to eliminate the risk for rekindling.
