What The Taco cleared for entertainment in new home
MATTAPOISETT — Get your best karaoke voices ready, a new entertainment option will soon be available in Mattapoisett.
What The Taco has been serving up Mexican food out of a food truck alongside County Road for the majority of the last 12 months and will soon move operations inside.
The business will soon take over the kitchen of the building located at 20 County Rd., formerly home to Jack’s Kitchen.
The Mattapoisett Select Board voted unanimously to approve an entertainment license for What The Taco at its meeting on Monday, Feb. 26.
David Nicolosi represented What The Taco at the meeting, saying that there were plans for four televisions to be used inside the restaurant, which would require an entertainment license.
“We will have stereo music inside,” said Nicolosi. “[Owner Megan St. John] is hoping to have either karaoke or some type of bingo once or twice a week.”
Nicolosi said that one type of bingo that ownership has looked into is “music bingo.”
According to Nicolosi, music bingo is played similarly to normal bingo, but players will mark their cards when they hear a certain song or artist played.
What The Taco plans to open operations inside sometime in March.
