Elizabeth Taber Library welcomes new executive director

MARION — Kayla King is Elizabeth Taber Library’s new executive director.

She served as assistant administrator at Fall River’s public library, where she was involved in programming, community engagement and public services. The library said in a press release that King’s appointment reflects the library’s mission of lifelong learning and connection.

“Kayla’s experience, energy, and deep commitment to public libraries make her an outstanding choice to lead the Elizabeth Taber Library,” said Riley Calhoun and Ana Francisco, co-presidents of the Elizabeth Taber Library Board of Trustees. “We are excited to welcome her to Marion and look forward to working with her as she builds on the Library’s proud history while helping shape its future.”

King said she is honored to become a part of the Marion community and library.

“Libraries are at their best when they reflect and support the communities they serve. I look forward to meeting patrons, partnering with the staff and trustees and continuing the Library’s tradition of welcoming service, learning and discovery,” King said in the press release.

The library will host a reception on Sept. 24 from 5-7 p.m. to welcome King.
