ROCHESTER — The memory of Madelyn Eitas runs on this September through a memorial 5K walk/run.
The 5K will be held Saturday, Sept. 19 at Dexter Field at 55 Dexter Lane. Registration ends at 8 a.m. and the event begins at 9 a.m.
The fee to participate is $65.55, and all proceeds benefit the Forever 1111 Foundation, created in Madelyn’s memory to support athletic programs and avalanche safety awareness.
Madelyn died earlier this year after being trapped in an avalanche during a Utah ski trip with her family.
She completed her first race last December, and was excited to participate in more events. The race will continue her legacy and passion for athletics.
