Nature programs with the Elizabeth Taber Library

MARION — The Elizabeth Taber Library is hosting a series of nature programs this summer as part of its summer reading program, "Plant a Seed, Read."

Joy Marzlof of Joys of Nature will lead a program on how animals survive in the wild for children on Tuesday, July 28. Two sessions will be held, at 3:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. Registration is required and can be completed at elizabethtaberlibrary.org/events.

Marzlof will also give an evening lecture for adults at 6 p.m. the same day on Madagascar's rainforest and the indri, a species of lemur known for its vocalizations. The program will include photographs and information on conservation efforts.

On Wednesday, Aug. 5, at 3 p.m., the Massachusetts Horticultural Society will lead a program on natural dyes and fibers for children ages 8 to 12. Participants will learn how plants can be used to create dye and will make their own project. Registration is required.
