Old Rochester hires new assistant superintendent
MATTAPOISETT — The Old Rochester Regional School District has hired a new administrator to lead the student services office.
Members of Old Rochester’s joint school committee appointed Dr. Jaime Curley as assistant superintendent of student services Wednesday, July 10.
Superintendent Michael Nelson said he “felt really fortunate” to recommend Curley for the role.
Curley has previously served as the director of special education services for the Mashpee Public School District since 2017. Prior to that, Curley worked in multiple roles — including director of pupil services and school psychologist — for the Dennis-Yarmouth Regional School District across a span of 10 years.
She holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from UMass Amherst, a Master of Education degree from UMass Boston and a doctor of education degree from Nova Southeastern University.
Curley said she was “really excited” to join the school district and looking forward to working with administration and staff and “continuing all the great work.”
“I’m really looking forward to getting in there and meeting the students,” Curley said
Nelson said Curley is “a professional that you want to attract for this type of position.”
“I’m excited about what the future will bring for us, and I make this recommendation to the joint school committee without hesitation,” he said.
The position had been posted in March under the title of director of student services. The role was then changed to assistant superintendent of student services, according to Nelson.
Curley’s hiring is pursuant to successful contract negotiations.
Kristine Lincoln has served as Old Rochester Regional School District’s interim director of student services since September 2023.
The student services office works with schools and staff to meet unique needs of identified students.
