MARION — The Elizabeth Taber Library offers several chances to celebrate Halloween this month.
Pumpkin decorating. The library will have its annual pumpkin decorating contest, with pumpkins donated from Fieldstone Farm Market. Participants can pick up their pumpkins after Wednesday, Oct. 7 to paint and decorate.
The finished pumpkins must be returned by Monday, Oct. 26 to qualify for the contest. The community will vote on favorites.
Make your own costume. Stop by the library Saturday, Oct. 17 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. to use the library’s materials and sewing machine to make a Halloween costume. Staff support will be available.
Ghosts and legends. Storyteller Jeff Belanger will journey through haunts in your backyard and around the world. The event is recommended for adults and children in fifth grade and older. Registration is required and can be done at elizabethtaberlibrary.org/event/ghosts-legends-with-jeff-belanger/.
Spooky, scary party. Come to the library on Thursday, Oct. 29 from 6-8 p.m. for a family-friendly Halloween celebration with sweet treats, crafts and spooky activities. Costumes are encouraged.
