Two-vehicle crash causes car rollover in Marion
MARION — A Ford Bronco and a Toyota Avalon collided in Marion at the intersection of Spring Street and U.S. Route 6, causing a rollover crash that led to a vehicle landing on its roof on Sunday, Oct. 26 at around 4:10 p.m.
The three people involved with the crash did not experience life threatening injuries, according to Fire Chief Brian Jackvony.
While the Ford Bronco remained upright, a driver and a single passenger in the Toyota Avalon experienced a rollover crash.
One of the occupants of the Toyota Avalon was able to escape the vehicle before the Marion Fire Department and Emergency Medical Services arrived. However, one passenger was trapped inside the crashed car until the fire department arrived.
“We were able to get that person out,” said Jackvony.
The Marion Fire Department was notified of the crash at 4:13 p.m. and dispatched two fire engines and two ambulances which arrived at the scene at approximately 4:17 p.m.
The driver and the passenger of the rollover vehicle were transported to St. Luke’s Hospital in New Bedford, and the operator of the Ford Bronco was transported to Tobey Hospital by Wareham Emergency Medical Services.
